Editorial Policy
How we research, write, review and correct content on AnimalsWork.
Last updated: August 9, 2026
Our Editorial Standards
AnimalsWork aims to publish accurate, original, genuinely useful animal information. Every profile and article is written or reviewed by a member of our editorial team before publishing, and researched against widely accepted reference sources appropriate to the topic — including recognized conservation classifications such as the IUCN Red List for conservation status.
Originality
We do not publish scraped, spun, or automatically generated content presented as original editorial work. Where we reference external sources for facts or figures, we synthesize and write content in our own words rather than reproducing source material.
Authorship & Attribution
Articles display the author and, where applicable, an editor. We do not publish content under fabricated author names, invented credentials, or fake organizational affiliations.
Advertising & Editorial Independence
AnimalsWork is supported by display advertising, including through networks such as Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence over which animals we cover, what our content says, or how it is organized. Advertisements are visually distinguished from editorial content and clearly labeled as ad space in our page layout.
Updates & Corrections
Animal facts and conservation statuses are periodically reviewed and updated as new information becomes available. When we make a material correction to a published page, we update the page’s “last updated” date. Readers can report suspected errors via our Contact page; we review and address reported issues as promptly as we can.
Distinguishing Educational Content from Advice
We clearly separate general educational information from anything that could be mistaken for veterinary, medical, or professional advice, and we say so explicitly on pages where that distinction matters — see our Disclaimer.
